CCDSS wants to thank our community partners for another 6th Annual Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway.  The days of receiving baskets were spread to four areas of where clients and workers could pick up their baskets. This hopefully helped by varying the days and locations to pick up a basket. Some were personally delivered by case managers who knew of families needing help to obtain. Thank you case managers for doing so. 150 families were served!

There was an assortment of support this year for our Thanksgiving Baskets–
Wednesday, November 15, 2017, New Hope AME Church was the host site for Charles Co. DSS in Waldorf.  Levitical International Worship Center of Waldorf, MD also provided baskets at this location to DSS families. At this site, clothing, coats, gloves, shoes, hats and scarves were provided free to families.

Thursday, November 16, 2017, Charles Co. DSS was the host site for families.  Linda Waters and Family of Journey of Faith Church of Waldorf and Honorable Matt Nolan Wills and his wife Rosita provided baskets of food.  Lifestyles, Inc. became the overflow when we needed more baskets to assist families. We also provided some coats, hats, scarves and gloves at the DSS site.

Friday, November 16, 2017, Calvary Gospel Church of Waldorf was the next host site for Charles County DSS families.  Later, that night Word Center Christian Fellowship located in Waldorf, MD provided more baskets to Charles County DSS families in the evening.

Monday, November 20, 2017, the Charles County NAACP provided baskets to some Charles County DSS families in Waldorf, MD.

Tuesday, November 21, 2017, Life Changing Christian Center of White Plains, MD was the host site in the evening for families of Charles County DSS.
